FAQ

Things people are probably wondering.

Including whether you can accidentally kill Dave. Short answers, no jargon, and nothing here overstates what your worker can actually do.

Any plant I buy dies. I'm worried I'll kill my AI worker too.

Good news: Dave doesn't need watering.

Forget about him for three weeks and he'll still be there when you come back, exactly as you left him. Possibly looking slightly bored.

Your worker and everything you've taught it stay saved with your account and subscription. Neglect alone won't kill him.

What happens if I swear at my AI worker?

Absolutely nothing.

Dave doesn't have feelings, so you can't hurt them.

He may, however, correctly conclude that the spreadsheet isn't going particularly well.

Will my AI worker get upset with me?

No.

Your worker can have a personality, but it doesn't actually have feelings.

Betty won't sulk. Dave won't hold a grudge. George isn't secretly judging you.

Probably one of their better qualities.

Do I have to say please and thank you?

No. But we're not going to stop you.

Your worker doesn't need manners to function — although "Dave, sort this bloody mess out please" is perfectly acceptable.

Can I fire my AI worker?

Yes.

Pause them. Delete them. Change their job. Rewrite their rules.

No awkward meeting. No cardboard box. No one stealing your stapler.

Can Dave quit?

No.

He may stop replying because he's paused or you've used up your plan's monthly messages.

But he cannot storm out dramatically because you asked him to redraft the email again.

Does my AI worker sleep?

Only for dramatic effect.

When paused, your robot visually powers down.

The actual software isn't tucked up under a tiny duvet.

Can I wake Dave up at 3am?

Yes.

No judgement. No dressing gown. No "can this wait until morning?"

Subject only to your plan's monthly message allowance — which, for the record, doesn't care what time it is either.

Will it judge my search history?

No — because it can't see it.

Your worker has no access to your browser, your files, your email or anything else on your devices.

It only knows what you type into the conversation and what you've put in its training manual.

Can it see everything on my computer?

Absolutely not.

Your worker can't see anything on your computer. It lives on our secure platform, and the only things it knows are the things you've deliberately typed in and taught it.

No keys to any doors — because right now there aren't any doors. If we ever add connections to outside services, you'll switch them on yourself, per worker, and can switch them off again.

What if Dave goes rogue?

We've deliberately made "going rogue" considerably less exciting than the films.

Your worker can only do one thing: talk with you. It can't send anything, buy anything, delete anything or touch any outside account — those abilities simply don't exist.

Worst case, Dave writes a strange sentence. You can also pause him at any time, which is the least dramatic robot uprising imaginable.

Can my AI worker spend my money?

No. Not even a little bit. Not even for a new robot hat.

Your worker has no access to your bank, your cards or your accounts. It can draft a purchase order; it cannot place one.

What if it makes a mistake?

Then it's made a mistake.

AI isn't magic and it isn't infallible — which is why your worker only ever drafts and suggests, and you stay the one who decides what actually gets used.

If it keeps getting something wrong, correct it in its training manual. It takes feedback better than most colleagues.

Can I teach it how I like things done?

Yes. That's rather the point.

Tell your worker about its job, your preferences and the way you work — in ordinary sentences, in its training manual.

You can see everything it has been taught and change it whenever you like.

Can I teach Dave bad habits?

Potentially.

If you repeatedly tell Dave that every email should begin "Alright, sunshine", don't be shocked when Dave starts sounding like you.

You remain the boss. You can also un-teach him just as quickly.

Can I change its name?

Of course.

Dave doesn't know he's Dave.

Call him Dave. Call her Betty. Call it Susan From Accounts. Call it Supreme Commander of Email.

Your worker won't mind.

Can I change what my worker looks like?

Yes. That's part of the fun.

Body, colour, face, headgear, accessories, personality — build a robot that actually feels like yours.

Can I have more than one?

Absolutely.

One worker is helpful. Several workers become your little digital workforce.

How many can be active at once depends on your plan — one on Solo, up to three on Business, up to six on Workforce.

Will they talk to each other?

Not yet.

Today each worker works with you, one conversation at a time.

What we won't ever do is unleash six robots into an unsupervised digital committee meeting and hope for the best.

Can I talk to it like a normal person?

Please do.

No special prompts. No coding. No learning to speak Robot.

Tell your worker what you need in ordinary language — and on supported browsers you can literally speak to it and have replies read aloud.

Do I need to understand AI?

No.

You probably don't understand exactly how your washing machine works either. You still expect it to wash your pants.

Same principle.

Do I need to download Dave?

No complicated installation.

Your worker lives securely on our platform. Use the same worker from your phone, computer or tablet — and on supported devices you can add us to your Home Screen so your workers are one tap away.

Same Dave. Different screen.

If I lose my phone, have I lost Dave?

No.

Dave isn't actually living inside your phone.

Your worker lives securely with your account. Sign in on another device, and there he is — same memory, same rules, same Dave.

Does my phone have to stay on while Dave works?

Dave works while you're talking to him — he drafts, plans, answers and analyses in the conversation, right in front of you.

He doesn't yet beaver away in the background while you sleep, so there's nothing to leave your phone on for. Everything he's done and been taught is saved the moment it happens.

Can I take Dave on holiday?

Yes.

Whether you SHOULD talk to Dave while sitting beside a swimming pool is between you and your life choices.

Can my partner steal my AI worker?

Not unless you've given them access to your account.

Although if Betty is exceptionally good at organising holidays, expect interest.

Will my worker replace me?

That's not the idea.

Give it the repetitive, irritating and time-consuming work — the drafting, the summarising, the "can you just write this up".

You keep the bits requiring your judgement, relationships, expertise and actual humanity.

Is it actually an employee?

No.

"Worker" is how we make the product easy to understand.

It's AI software — not a human employee, not conscious, and definitely not entitled to annual leave.

Does it need a lunch break?

No.

Dave has never experienced a meal deal and intends to keep it that way.

What does it eat?

Mostly computing power.

Which is considerably easier to expense than sandwiches.

Can it make me rich?

There's no magic money button here, and we won't pretend otherwise.

A good worker helps you get useful work done faster and more consistently. What that becomes is still down to the business around it.

Can I blame Dave if something goes wrong?

You can try.

Dave is unlikely to instruct a solicitor.

Is my information used to train other people's workers?

No.

What you teach your worker is used to run YOUR worker, for your account only. Other customers' workers never see it, and we don't sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Your messages are processed by our AI provider to generate each reply, under terms that don't allow them to be used for training other people's models. The plain-English detail is on our Privacy page.

Can another customer's worker see my stuff?

No.

Every customer's data is isolated by security rules enforced in the database itself, and we test that isolation with automated checks.

Betty from someone else's account has never met your Dave and never will.

What happens if I don't want my worker anymore?

You stay in control.

Pause workers, delete them, or cancel your subscription — cancelling pauses your workers but keeps everything you've taught them saved, in case you change your mind.

No guilt trip from Betty.

Is there going to be a robot uprising?

We've checked the diary.

Nothing booked.

Still wondering something?

The fastest way to understand an AI worker is to build one. It's free to build and try.
